The AMS Bonneville Top Speed EVO build... eine Menge von Bildern!

  • One of our close friends and customers Tommy P has decided to build a REALLY cool car for a unique form of racing. Tommy is no newbie to motorsports either. You might remember his red evo from a past sport compact car ultimate street car challenge. His car dominated just about every event until he had an oil pump failure on the last leg costing him the event.

Hes not one to be defeated though as he now brings his pride and joy to AMS to help team up with us on building a MPH monster! The car just showed up today but you can already see its got some nice work done to it. I will keep you all updated in this thread as we modify this EVO for some standing mile competition and to even compete on the Bonneville salt flats!

I will post more updates as soon as we have them!

    Thank you

    Rich

  • So, you use a fridge as a water-to-air cooler?! :D
    Great!

The seat looks like the one from the "Saw IV" movie.

Why such a complex mount for the gearshift? Most people
in Europe just use thin 10cm long aluminum tubes from a
    hardware store.

    Regards,
    Erik

  • We hope to hit 230 + MPH in Texas Standing mile, which is like drag racing except you run a length of a mile. The car is also going to run at the Bonneville Speed Week where the cars race on a dried out lake on salt over a distance of 5 miles.
The rules for both of those events are extremely strict as far as safety is concerned. Driver's elbows are going to be strapped to the seat so everything has to be within his reach.

yes, we are using a standard cooler to cool the water for the air to water inter cooler. Why try to reinvent the wheel haha.

    Thank you
